Scott Bakula, Anna Camp, Tate Donovan, Mercedes Ruehl, Pablo Schreiber Among Stage Stars Added to TV Pilots

Numerous stage veterans have been added to the cast of upcoming TV pilots, according to Deadline.com and TVLine.com


Scott Bakula will star in NBC’s comedy Table For Three, as Robert, a middle-aged dentist who has recently become engaged to a 29-year-old blond, who happens to be his daughter’s former high school classmate.


Anna Camp, who currently appears on CBS’ The Good Wife, will co-star in Mindy Kaling’s Fox comedy pilot as Kaling’s former college roommate and best friend.


Tate Donovan, who starred last season on Broadway in Good People, has been cast in NBC’s drama pilot Notorious, as the oldest son of Victor Garber’s character, Robert Lawson.


Zak Orth has joined NBC’s drama pilot, Revolution, as a brilliant scientist left in a world where physics no longer follows the same rules.


Ben Rappaport will star alongside Dennis Miller in ABC’s Awesometown, about a twentysomething guy who gets divorced and moves into an apartment with his co-worker and roommate.


Matthew Rhys, who stars in the current Roundabout Theatre revival of Look Back In Anger will join Keri Russell in FX’s The Americans, as a pair of KGB agents posing as an American couple in Washington, DC.


Tony Award winner Mercedes Ruehl will star in Fox’s comedy pilot El Jefe, as a former nanny whose now 30-something charge (played by Ryan Hansen) moves in with her.


Pablo Schreiber will co-star in CBS’ drama pilot Baby Big Shot, which focuses on Martina (Janet Montgomery), a working-class woman who uses her street smarts to compete with her more polished colleagues at a top New York law firm.


Scott Wolf has joined the cast of the CW’s Joey Dakota, which features Amber Stevens as Maya, a filmmaker making a documentary about rock star Joey Dakota (Craig Horner), who died in the 1990s, and ends up traveling back in time.


Other stage stars who are currently negotiating roles in pilots include Angela Bassett and Hamish Linklater.
