The University of Houston's School of Theatre and Dance (SOTD) has been named "Best College Theater" in the Houston Press' inaugural Houston Theater Awards.

The school's faculty and students, who were lauded by the publication for recent productions of The Cripple of Inishmaan and The Crucible, will be on hand to accept the award during a ceremony on September 28 at Phoenicia MKT Bar.

Winners were selected by a panel of Houston Press theater critics.
