Welcome to Fred Eng's Chinatown tours! The Year of the Dragon, directed by EWP Founding Artistic Director Mako, is written by the playwright many consider to be godfather of Asian-American theater. This play caused an enormous uproar when it was first produced in 1974. It not only influenced a generation of APA writers, but is also had a profound impact on an entire generation of Asian-Americans.
