WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
These two short plays by Bertoit Brecht, set in Germany during the early rise of the Nazis, still have resonance for today's audiences. The Jewish Wife concerns a wealthy Jewish woman married to a German doctor, and the conflict she has within herself about the marriage and her ultimate survival as a Jew.
The Informer reflects the fear and paranoia a Lutheran professor and his wife feel when they suspect that their son, a member of the Hitler youth, is spying on them.
