This sweet tale of an eclectic mix of neighborhood locals is told against the backdrop of an adult community center tap dancing class. Throughout the play, our earnest amateurs struggle to learn the routine for their big holiday show. We are offered snapshots into the lives of people who are on the outside looking in, yet something about the shared experience of dance drives them to challenge their fears and triumph over their troubles. We follow a room full of strangers who will teach us that the bonds of family are not always determined by our blood relations.
