WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Clarinda Ross, a Drama-Logue award winner for Best Actress in a solo performance,
wrote and stars in this quirky and highly personal family memoir. A comic look at what a
Southern daughter learned from her college professor parents. Inspired by the discovery
of her father's journals after his death, Clarinda Ross takes us on a humorous and
poignant journey in planes, trains and automobiles when she leaves her home to venture
out into the big world. Compassion, etiquette, men and children are just a few of the
subjects she examines through her wacky and uniquely Southern viewfinder. Most
importantly, the play expresses how well her parents' lessons have served her in her
struggles as the mother of a disabled child. In Spit Like a Big Girl, Ross deals with growing up southern, the death of her father and raising her mentally disabled daughter.

RE:You must go!!
Just happened to be the most emotionally draining and rewarding experience of any presentations I have attended. This is not chuckle, chuckle, ha-ha material, but it is not devoid of humor. Clarinda goes through the chronolog that moves you to the passion of the moment she is relating. I cried for the father I always wanted to be and am still working on. I cried in admiration of my wife, a Special Ed. teacher. I then I cried, just because of the warmth that came from the stage. Definitely - must see.
