Secret Rose Theatre and Blazeco Productions presents Stephen Karam's Off-Broadway hit comedy, "Speech & Debate". When three teenage misfits in Salem, Oregon find themselves linked by a sex scandal involving one of their teachers, they join forces to seek out and expose the truth (without exposing their "Bathing-suit-areas" in the process), in this funny and controversial dark comedy with music.
"Speech & Debate" was written by Karam when he was just 25, using the transcript of an online chat between the former mayor of Spokane, Washington and a gay teenager as the basis for this fiercely funny and edgy new play. The play received a GLAAD Media nomination upon its premiere, and was hailed by Entertainment Weekly in 2006 as "one of the top 10 plays of the year"
