On Golden Pond meets Will and Grace with the story of the three generations of Applebaum women in the final days of a summer that changes their lives forever.
Goth Molly arrives home from freshman orientation (with a boy covered with piercings and tattoos in tow) having revealed that she has an important announcement. Her freshly divorced Mom, hippieish Suzanne, is convinced that Molly's news is that history is repeating herself--and that she's about to become a 36-year-old grandmother. Recovering alcoholic Ava, despite herself, develops a case of impending great-grandmother fever--when she's not spying on the new next-door neighbor, Buddy McKinley, who turns out to be a blast from her past.
Once upon a time the business partner of Ava's late husband, as well as his best friend during the Vietnam war. But Ava has her reasons being angry with him--she blames him for the fall of their business, an Irish pub that was a staple of the community even out of tourist season. She f*&king hates him...or does she? It's a tale about truth, family, and accepting people for who they are . . . and more importantly, for who they're not.
