In April 1999 the Columbine shootings stunned a nation. On Valentine's Day this year, a man opened fire in an Ulster, N.Y. shopping mall. In the aftermath of violent tragedy, how do survivors cope? Written just months before the Columbine incident, Peter Segal's Mall America focuses on the psychological journey of Allison Brody, the survivor of a mass shooting at a shopping mall and her struggle with the aftereffects of guilt, rage, and helplessness.
