Something Wicked Is Stirring In The Wild, Wild West in Shakespeare's classic tale of ambition and murder. In the dusty, hardscrabble world of 1860's, there was a strong moral code but no law. During the Range Wars, the King Ranch was the largest and most powerful of the ranches and the spirit of the settlers was one of unbridled ambition. Set against this backdrop, Arne Zaslove's visceral re-imagining of Shakespeare's Macbeth reveals desire as the drug that fuels a lust for power -- a power that is predicted by witches and satisfied with a few swift, bloody executions. In the frontier, wealth, power and land are controlled by the gun.
