East West Players presents a revival of David Henry Hwang's Tony Award-winning M. Butterfly starring Arye Gross and Alec Mapa. Chay Yew directs.
The play is based on a true story that stunned the world. French diplomat Rene Gallimard is arrested by the French government for having an affair with Chinese Opera singer Song Liling for more than 20 years without ever knowing that his ideal woman was a spy for the Chinese government - and a man disguised as a woman. Only in real life could love become unreal.
