Following the triumph of Warner Shook's recent staging of The Last Night of Ballyhoo at South Coast Repertory and before John Strand's Lovers and Executioners arrives in January, the acclaimed director and playwright are teaming to present Strand's provocative Lincolnesque in a staged reading.

Strand's play launches SCR's 19th NewSCRipts Season, the series of Monday night play readings that introduced such eminent titles as Donald Margulies' Collected Stories, Margaret Edson's Wit and Richard Greenberg's Three Days of Rain.

The cast is Nancy Bell, JD Cullum, Gregory Itzin and James Waterston.
