WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Manuel Puig's drama Kiss of the Spider Woman focuses on two inmates jailed in a grim and brutal prison by an oppressive South American government. When one begins recounting the elaborate movie plots of his favorite actress, it provides a fantasy outlet that eases both men's misery. As time passes, they begin to trust each other, realizing that this is the only way they can both survive.
