If You Get to Bethlehem, You've Gone Too Far is the world premiere of Emmy Award-winning actress Mariette Hartley's bittersweet, often hilarious, solo show, in which she portrays eleven characters. It is based on her bestselling memoir, Breaking the Silence. On route to the Convent of Regina Laudis to visit starlet-turned-nun Dolores Hart, Hartley gets lost in rural Connecticut, near her childhood home. As she travels the winding, country roads trying to find her way, she revisits and comes to terms with her often difficult past, finding a solace that has previously eluded her. Don Eitner directs.
