Fernuckle McCragen has lived an adventurous life in which he has travelled from the tropical rain forest of indigenous tribes to the Inuit territory of the frozen North. He has been victorious in his encounters with man and beast. However, his luck has run out and he's taken a bullet. He shuffles into the office of Mel O'Grady, who writes obituaries in the Adirondacks, with an eye towards having a customized notice written for himself before he expires. Who would plant a slug in McCragen? There's a list of suspects. A HUNTER'S OBITUARY is a murder mystery, but it also provides loads of laughs.
