Harao Kummei features lead dancers from Manipuri Dance Visions Ensemble - the premiere Manipuri Dance company of the U.S. and the only one in the west coast. The company members are trained in classical Manipuri dance by Sohini Ray the founder and artistic director of Manipuri dance Visions. Sohini Ray is considered one of the foremost artists of Guru Bipin Singh's gharana (school) of Manipuri dance in India and world-wide. She trained with Guru Bipin Singh the legendary master of Manipuri dance for over twenty and after spending many years as an individual artiste she has started her own institution and dance company in Los Angeles.
