The hustle and flow of the 80s rock scene is the backdrop for Gangster and the Cradle Rockers, A Rock n' Roll Tragedy, written by Louise Newmark, co-directed by Louise Newmark and Richard A. Steel, and featuring the music and lyrics of Donnie Newmark.

It seemed easy enough - sell a little dope to friends and fellow musicians in order to pay for recording time at a studio. It's small time stuff for Johnny, just enough to keep him afloat while he makes his music and struggles to build a career for himself and his band, Gangster. But Johnny's old friend and supplier, George, has become a big time drug lord since the two knew each other as teenagers, and Johnny suddenly finds himself being sucked into a darker, more dangerous world than he ever imagined. When Johnny tries to break free, George swears retaliation against him. And although Johnny finally manages to clean up his act and distance himself from his chaotic past, his embittered supplier patiently hides in the shadows, waiting for just the right moment...
