WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Saddened by the death of his dog, CB begins to question the existence of an afterlife. No one has the answer. His sister has gone goth, his best friend is a pothead, his ex-girlfriend is an pyromaniac, and the rest of his childhood friends are sex-obsessed and homophobic. His only outlet is his letters to a pen pal that never writes back. A chance meeting with the school's outcast, the target of this group's bullying, sets in motion a friendship that will push teen angst to the very limits. Bert V. Royal's DOG SEES GOD: Confessions of a Teenage Blockhead is an "unauthorized parody" of America's most famous cartoon strip as they enter puberty and endure the angst-ridden social world known as high school. Drug use, suicide, eating disorders, teen violence, rebellion, and sexual identity collide and careen toward an ending that's both haunting and hopeful.
