Shen Wei Dance Arts, the sensation of the inaugural 2003-2004 season of Dance at the Music Center, returns to perform "Connect Transfer." The company first came to the Music Center in 2004, where it shocked and pleased audiences in equal measure with its program of "Folding" and "The Rite of Spring." In "Connect Transfer," the action of the dancers creates a painting on a large canvas that is the dance floor, illuminating the connections between bodies, movement, visual art, live art, and audience. The blank canvas on the floor is transformed into a piece of art as dancers draw swirls of paint through their movements across the stage. Thirty Minute Lectures with Shen Wei take place immediately following all performances, providing intriguing perspective on the choreography and the painting.
