WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
The Open Fist Theatre Company is proud to present COWBOY MOUTH by Sam Shepard and Patti Smith and LOBSTER MAN, an original one-act companion piece by Martin George.
COWBOY MOUTH is a 1970s duet of the disillusioned. We find Cavale and Slim after one too many mornings. Cavale has kidnapped Slim to make him the "Rock n' Roll Savior." In a play that explores the rawness of life and love, Cavale and Slim take a fantastic journey into a world of love, betrayal, worship, release and the Lobster Man.
Inspired by COWBOY MOUTH, Martin George's LOBSTER MAN asks "Where did Lobster Man come from and what has he abandoned?" Responding to Shepard's theme of letting go, this work deals with those who only hold on. -jam
