Whether it's his show stopping performance in Ragtime, his Tony win for Kiss Me, Kate or any of his other mesmerizing appearances, Brian Stokes Mitchell is undeniably Broadway's leading leading man. He has been able to bring to his roles a commanding stage presence and a baritone that can caress lyrics or wrap them in vocal thunder, depending on the emotions involved. His cabaret act is equally resonant, with some surprises: Look for jazzy scat singing where you've never heard scatting before.
