WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Botanicum Seedlings: A Development Series for Playwrights furthers new works and new voices by presenting public readings of new plays. Schedule Sunday, February 18 at 12:00 pm: Leonardo Da Vinci and the Possibility of Human Flight by Michael Andrew Walton - a provocative new look into the life of enigmatic Renaissance genius Leonardo Da Vinci. Filled with rough magic and the sordid mess of fourteenth century Florentine life, the drama explores the fragility and violent nature of human inspiration, aspiration and ambition. Sunday, February 25 at 12:00 pm: Family Values by Hoyt Hilsman - an all-American dark comedy set in Washington about a Senator from Idaho and his decidedly, disturbingly, oddball family. The characters include the self-medicating Senator himself, his deep-in-denial wife, lesbian daughter, brooding son home from college, and a slightly deranged BBC journalist who has no problem making himself right at home.
