WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Psittacus Productions is proud to present A Tale Told By An Idiot, a 60 minute, comic book-style deconstruction of Shakespeare's Macbeth.

"FIVE STARS. Chilling!!"
-Hollywood Fringe.com

"Go!" "Mesmerizing!" - Steven Leigh Morris, LA WEEKLY

"Critic's Pick!" "Completely Mesmerizing!" - Jennie Webb, BACKSTAGE

A comic book come to life. The show is performed by actors wearing all black, and lit exclusively with flashlights. In this way, they can become invisible, and achieve stunning visual effects by controlling where the audiences' eyes go. People walk through walls, float and vanish, and the perspective on whole scenes rotates.

Using fragments of the original text of Macbeth, A Tale Told By An Idiot is both a meditation on terrorism and an experiment in the power of theater artists to electrify an empty space. The project uses bodies, music, and light to transport the audience to a world where dream-logic reigns, and one can no longer fully trust one's own senses.
