WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
This story of two actors - one a prickly aging veteran and one relative newcomer (a rising star) - demonstrates that backstage personal politics and rivalry is very often more interesting than onstage drama. David Mamet's A Life in the Theatre is about the uneasy passing of the torch from one generation to the next within a complex relationship.
