The Santa Monica Playhouse Benefit Series presents A Bit of Irish with Chris Sullivan, a (raucous) Irish hooley and a celebration of Ireland with songs, poems, stories and limericks followed by a free-wheeling benefit auction on St. Patrick's Day. Created and performed by Chris Sullivan with production design by The Attic Room, this year's hooley will also feature a live post-performance auction where audience members can bring home a bit of theater memorabilia, Irish themed items, and prizes donated by local area merchants.
The multi-talented Sullivan has toured his show to Irish fairs and theatre festivals in the U.K. and the U.S.A., including a month-long run at the Edinburgh Festival. The 2005 edition of the show will bring together some old familiar pieces and some new material culled from the rich tradition of Irish literature and song.
