Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up Lights Up the Kirk Douglas Theatre

Center Theatre Group brings Lucy Alibar’s work-in-progress presentation to the stage tonight.

Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up begins performances at the Kirk Douglas Theatre tonight. The solo show presents stories and vignettes about an idiosyncratic childhood growing up in Grady County. Featured in the show are "a lecherous goat, Pentecostals on the radio, a house full of dogs, cats, and Febreze, and Daddy’s .38 special." The show is presented as part of the DouglasPlus series productions.

Written and performed by Lucy Alibar, the show is directed by Neel Keller.

The creative team includes Elizabeth Harper (light design), Takeshi Kata (set design), Laura Bauer (costume design), Adam Phalen (sound design), Jason H. Thompson (projection design), and Janice Paran (dramaturg).

Performances will run through May 31.
