Broadway Alums Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore to Star in New Todd Haynes Film

Williams can currently be seen on Broadway in David Harrower’s drama ”Blackbird”.

Broadway veterans Michelle Williams and Julianne Moore will star together in a new film directed by Todd Haynes, according to Variety. The movie, titled Wonderstruck, will be produced and distributed by Amazon Studios.

Wonderstruck will be based on a book of the same name by Brian Selznick. It follows two deaf children, one in 1927 and one in 1977. Brian Bell will executive-produce, and Christine Vachon’s Killer Films will produce along with Pam Koffler and John Sloss.

Director and screenwriter Todd Haynes is known for Far From Heaven, starring Julianne Moore, and Carol, starring Cate Blanchett, among many other movies.

Julianne Moore appeared on Broadway in 2006 in The Vertical Hour. Michelle Williams made her Broadway debut in Roundabout's 2014 revival of Cabaret, and is currently back on Broadway opposite Jeff Daniels in David Harrower's drama Blackbird.
