Casting has been announced for the Druid production of The Beauty Queen of Leenane, coming to the Mark Taper Forum this November. Performances begin November 9 in advance of a November 16 opening and will run through December 18.

Druid artistic director Garry Hynes will helm Martin McDonagh's Tony-nominated play, featuring original Broadway cast member Marie Mullen, who earned a Tony Award in 1998 for her performance as Maureen Folan. She will now take on the role of Maureen’s mother Mag, alongside Aisling O’Sullivan (Maureen), Aaron Monaghan (Ray), and Marty Rea (Pato).

The design team includes Francis O’Connor (sets and costumes), James F. Ingalls (lighting), and Greg Clarke (sound), Paddy Cunneen serves as composer, with Bryan Burroughs as fight director.

Set in the mountains of Connemara, County Galway, The Beauty Queen of Leenane tells the story of Maureen Folan, a plain and lonely woman in her early 40s, and Mag, her manipulative, aging mother, whose interference in Maureen's first and potentially last romantic relationship sets in motion a chain of events that are as tragically funny as they are horrific.
