Lin-Manuel Miranda to Receive Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

“Weird Al” Yankovic and others are also among the walk’s class of 2018.

Broadway's Lin-Manuel Miranda, creator and original star of the hit musical Hamilton, will receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce has announced. Miranda will be part of the walk's class of 2018, along with celebrities including Snoop Dogg, Shonda Rhimes, RuPaul, Carrie Underwood, Mary J. Blige, and "Weird Al" Yankovic, among others.

According to social-media posts, Miranda was with Yankovic having lunch when they both received the news:

Miranda is the recipient of three Tony Awards, two Grammy Awards, an Emmy Award, the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, and the MacArthur Foundation Award. In addition to Hamilton, his Broadway work has included In the Heights and Bring It On. He recently wrote songs for Disney's animated film Moana, and he will soon be seen in a starring role in the upcoming Mary Poppins sequel.
