After an acclaimed run at the Bay Street Theater in Sag Harbor this summer, Michael Wilson's production of the musical Grey Gardens, starring Tony Award winner Betty Buckley (Cats) and Drama Desk Award winner Rachel York (Disaster!), will be remounted at Center Theatre Group's Ahmanson Theatre in 2016.

The Los Angeles engagement, running from July 2-August 14, replaces the previously announced Titanic the Musical, which was a touring production no longer scheduled to stop in California, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Based on the 1975 documentary film of the same name by Albert and David Maysles, Grey Gardens tells the story of Big Edie (Buckley) and Little Edie Beale (York), a mother and daughter who ended up living as recluses in a run-down Long Island mansion. The musical version features a book by Doug Wright and a score by Michael Korie and Scott Frankel.

Full casting for the Los Angeles production will be announced. The Bay Street run also featured Howard McGillin (George Gould Strong), Gracie Beardsley (Jacqueline), Matt Doyle (Joe/Jerry), James Harkness (Brooks Sr./Brooks Jr.), Sarah Hunt (Young Edie), Simon Jones (Major/Peale), and Dakota Quackenbush (Lee).
