ABC's new three-hour musical remake of the popular 1987 film Dirty Dancing is set to air for the first time tonight at 8pm EST.

Dirty Dancing follows a teenage girl who falls in love with a working-class dance instructor while vacationing with her family in the Catskill Mountains. Broadway veteran Colt Prattes (How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying), taking on the role made famous by Patrick Swayze, stars opposite Abigail Breslin (All the Fine Boys) who steps into Jennifer Grey's shoes as Francis "Baby" Houseman. Debra Messing (Outside Mullingar) plays Baby's mother Marjorie Houseman (originated by Kelly Bishop).

Allison Shearmur (The Hunger Games) and Eleanor Bergstein — who wrote the original screenplay — serve as executive producers. Jessica Sharzer (The L Word) wrote the adaptation, with direction by Wayne Blair (The Sapphires), music by Adam Anders and Peer Astrom (Glee), and choreography by Hamilton Andy Blankenbuehler.
