Pasadena Playhouse's redwhite bluezz Jazz Club will host the West Coast premiere of the dark comedy Clown Bar. The film noir-inspired immersive production comes to California following an off-Broadway run at the Parkside Lounge in 2013.

Created by Adam Szymkowicz and directed by Jaime Robledo, Clown Bar puts guests "in the middle of the sexy, dangerous, hilarious action of a bar filled with wise guys who happen to be funny." The story follows Happy Mahoney, a former-clown-turned-cop who comes to the Clown Bar looking for answers — and vengeance for the murder of his brother Timmy. Rounding out the tongue-in-cheek production is a sad-sack lounge-singer cabaret and a sexy stripper-clown burlesque.

Clown Bar performances run every Thursday night in January at 8pm and include a prix fixe with choice of entrée. Clown cocktails are available during the 7:30pm pre-show.
