Center Theatre Group to Offer Spanish Captions for Two Quiara Alegría Hudes Plays

”Elliot, a Soldier’s Fugue” and ”Water by the Spoonful” will have one Spanish-language open-captioned performance each.

Center Theatre Group will offer Spanish-language open-captioned performances for two Quiara Alegría Hudes plays: Elliot, a Soldier’s Fugue on Sunday, February 25, at 1pm at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, and Water by the Spoonful on Friday, March 9, at 8pm at the Mark Taper Forum.

Both plays are part of Hudes's Elliot trilogy, a series of three plays revolving around Elliot Ruiz, a Puerto Rican Iraq War veteran from Philadelphia. Shishir Kurup directs Elliot, a Soldier's Fugue, while Lileana Blain-Cruz directs Water by the Spoonful.

Both are currently in previews. Elliot, a Soldier's Fugue opens on February 3 and runs through February 25, while Water by the Spoonful opens February 11 and runs through March 11.
