Stephen Daldry to Be Honored at Palm Springs International Film Festival

Tony Award winner and Oscar nominee Stephen Daldry will be honored on January 7 as Director of the Year for his work on Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Daldry has won Tony Awards for his direction of Billy Elliot and An Inspector Calls. He also directed David Hare’s Via Dolorosa on Broadway.


Among his other film credits are the movie Billy Elliot, The Hours, and The Reader.

As previously announced, George Clooney will be honored with the Chairman’s Award for his work on The Ides of March and Glenn Close will receive the Career Achievement Award at the January 7 event.
