Richard M. Sherman to Receive Tribute Concert at El Capitan Theatre

El Capitan Theatre will present A Tribute to Richard M. Sherman on Sunday, January 8 at 7pm. Sherman will make a special appearance at this musical multi-media showcase.
The event will include rare film clips of his work; Rob Richards on the world famous El Capitan Mighty Wurlitzer Pipe Organ; special musical guests Alex Zsolt and Richard Allen; and more.
Sherman and his brother Robert are best known for their songs from Mary Poppins, winning two Oscars for best score and best song (“Chim Chim Cher-ee”), with most of the tunes from the film now incorporated into the Broadway musical version of the show. They also composed the score for the film musical Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, which was later adapted for the stage, as well as the original musicals Over Here and Busker Alley. More recently, Richard M. Sherman has collaborated with Milt Larsen on the book and score for the stage musical PAZZAZZ!
