Geffen Playhouse Adds In Mother Words, Extraordinary Chambers to 2011 Season

The Geffen Playhouse has announced two additional shows for its 2011 season.

In Mother Words will run February 15 – May 1, with an opening on February 23. Conceived by Susan Rose & Joan Stein, it is written by Leslie Ayvazian, David Cale, Jessica Goldberg, Beth Henley, Lameece Issaq, Lisa Loomer, Michele Lowe, Marco Pennette, Lisa Ramirez, Theresa Rebeck, Luanne Rice, Annie Weisman, and Cheryl L. West. Lisa Peterson will direct this collection of stories on the universal subject of motherhood.

Pamela McKinnon will direct the world premiere of David Wiener’s Extraordinary Chambers, May 24-July 3, with an opening on June 1. In the play, an American telecom executive brings his wife on a business trip to Cambodia, but as business deals unravel and personal negotiations brim with political consequences, they must decide if the salvation of one life is worth sacrificing the justice of many.
