West Coast Ensemble Announces 2009 Season

By Tristan Fuge • Dec 8, 2008 • Los Angeles
West Coast Ensemble has announced the production line-up for its 2009 season, which will open with The Graduate (beginning February 13), an adaptation by Terry Johnson of Charles Webb's novel and the screenplay of the film by Calder Willingham and Buck Henry. BIG, The Musical will follow, set to open May 9, the west coast premiere of the John Weidman-David Shire-Richard Maltby musical based on the popular 1987 movie.

Anita Bryant Died For Your Sins by Brin Christopher Williams will open August 28, the story of a young boy's sexual awakening in 1977, marked by images of Olympic swimmer Mark Spitz and anti-gay crusader Anita Bryant. Edward Albee's Three Tall Women will open November 6, the author's Pulitzer Prize-winning portrait of contemporary women. For season subscribers, there will be a free production of Annie Korzen's Yenta: Straight From The Mouth, an evening of comedy, music, and constructive criticism.
