Rita Wilson to Be Honored at Geffen Gala

Actress/producer Rita Wilson will receive the “Distinction in Theater Award” at the annual Backstage at the Geffen gala, to be held at the Geffen Playhouse, March 9 beginning at 7 pm.

The star-studded evening, which recognizes leadership in the theater community while raising funds for the Geffen Playhouse education programs, will also honor President and CEO of CBS, Leslie Moonves, who will receive the “Distinction in Service Award.” The event will be chaired by producer Mark Burnett and actress Roma Downey.

Wilson has appeared on Broadway in Chicago, at the Geffen in Collected Stories, and in the recent world premiere of Distracted. Offstage, Wilson donates her time and efforts to the arts non-profits Shakespeare Festival / LA and UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television, among others.
