During his engagement at the theater, Felder will perform two of his musical portraits: Monsieur Chopin, (February 28 - March 7), a look at the love story between Frédéric Chopin and the authoress Georges Sand; and Maestro: Leonard Bernstein (March 10-18), a look at the composer and conductor.
In addition, he will premiere Lincoln - An American Story for Actor and Symphony Orchestra (March 27 - April 7), which is based on the true story of Dr. Charles Augustus Leale, who was in the audience at Ford's Theatre on the evening Abraham Lincoln was assassinated and who saw to the president's wounds. All three pieces are directed by Joel Zwick.
Felder's other pieces include George Gershwin Alone which has been seen both on Broadway and in the West End and has played around the country. In 2007 he won two Los Angeles Ovation Awards for his work about Gershwin, include Best Musical and Best Actor.
In addition to the three productions, The Pasadena Playhouse will present two special performances of Hershey Felder's Great American Songbook Sing-Along on March 12 and March 19, during which audiences join Hershey Felder for a tour through an entire century of American music.
