Cate Blanchett to Star in Terence Malick’s Lawless and Knight of Cups

Oscar winner and stage star Cate Blanchett will star in two films to be directed by Terence Malick, according to Variety. The site reports the films will shoot back-to-back next year, but will have separate narrative.
Lawless will co-star Ryan Gosling, Christian Bale, Rooney Mara and Haley Bennett, while Knight of Cups will co-star Bale and Isabel Lucas.
Blanchett’s stage credits include Uncle Vanya, A Streetcar Named Desire, and Hedda Gabler. She won the Oscar for the Aviator, and her many films include Elizabeth, The Lord of the Rings, Babel, and Hanna.
Malick’s films include The Tree of Life, Badlands, and Days of Heaven.
