Tony Morrell to Bring Remembering the Ladies to the El Portal Theatre in December

Tony Morrell will perform her new multimedia show Remembering the Ladies at the El Portal Theatre, to run December 2-31. Karen G. Cadle will direct the production, which will have musical direction by David Dial.

In the show, Morrell pays tribute to a variety of stage, screen and song legends such as Judy Garland, Marilyn Monroe, Marlene Dietrich, Liza Minnelli, Shirley Bassey, and Edith Piaf, offering not impersonations, but stylings in the originals’ molds. The production will also feature surprise guest celebrity appearances.

Morrell’s other credits include such pieces as Toni Morrell – Now That’s An Entertainer – Featuring A Salute to the Legendary Ladies and her autobiographical My British-American Dream…”What The Hell Was I Thinking?. In addition, she was the voice-over spokesperson worldwide for the Pixar/Walt Disney motion picture, Tinker Bell.
