Julie Newmar, Doris Roberts, Rip Taylor, and Mary and Fred Willard were among the guests at the opening night performance of Barrymore, at the The Marilyn Monroe Theatre At The Lee Strasberg Creative Center, on Saturday, November 6. Jack Betts stars in the title role of this William Luce’s play.
The evening’s festivities included a birthday celebration for Roberts, who also hosted the opening night. Guests also included John Glover, Thao Penghlis, Larry Pressman, Don Swayze, Ned VanZandt, as well as Ana Strasberg and John Barrymore, Jr.
The play is set in 1942, the final year of legendary actor John Barrymore’s life and takes place on the stage of a Broadway theatre, where the actor is struggling to recreate his performance in the title role of Shakespeare’s Richard III.
The cast also includes Darin Dahms as Frank. Carlyle King has directed the production.
