Jerry Zaks to Direct Randy Newman’s Harps and Angels at Mark Taper Forum

Tony Award-winning director Jerry Zaks will direct Harps and Angels, a new musical using the songs of Academy Award winner Randy Newman and conceived by Jack Viertel, at L.A.’s Mark Taper Forum, November 10-December 19, 2010, with an official opening set for November 21.

The show, which is being described as a frequently satirical commentary on being born and growing up in the U.S., will include such songs as “I Love L.A.,” “I Think It’s Going to Rain Today,” “Sail Away,” “Marie,” “Rednecks,” “My Country,” “Louisiana 1927,” “Feels Like Home,” and “You’ve Got a Friend in Me.”
