Nicole Ari Parker, James Pickens, Jr. Among Honorees for NAACP Theatre Awards

Nicole Ari Parker, who starred on Broadway last season in A Streetcar Named Desire, will receive The Spirit Award at the 22nd Annual NAACP Theatre Awards, to be held at the Directors Guild of America in Hollywood on Monday, November 5, at 6pm.

Additional honorees include veteran actor James Pickens, Jr., who will receive The Lifetime Achievement Award; producers Stephen Byrd & Alia M. Jones (Front Row Productions), who will pick up The Trailblazer Award; and Willis Edwards, who receives The Humanitarian Award.

The event will feature musical performances by Tichina Arnold and Shoshana Bean. Celebrity presenters will include Samuel L. Jackson, Blair Underwood, Kate Burton, Judy Reyes, Richard Roundtree, Victoria Rowell, Nadine Velazquez, Jamie Kennedy, Clifford Smith, LisaRaye McCoy, Tonya Pinkins, Brian White, Rochelle Aytes, Vicci Martinez, Russell Hornsby, Selita Ebanks, ToryKittles, and Nadine Ellis.
