Jena Malone Set for Lonely Hunter. Hounddog Movie

Jena Malone will play Carson McCullers in the movie biography Lonely Hunter. Hounddog, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Deborah Kampmeier is writing and directing the project.

The film will examine over three decades of the writer’s life, including her debilitating illness and her rocky personal life, as well as her creative circle that included Tennessee Williams and Truman Capote.

Malone appeared in Doubt on Broadway and Mourning Becomes Electra Off-Broadway. Among her movie credits are Sucker Punch, The Ruins, Into the Wild, Donnie Darko and The Dangerous Lives of Altar Boys.
