Ricky Jay will perform a holiday engagement at the Geffen Playhouse in Ricky Jay: A Rogue’s Gallery – An Evening of Conversation and Performance, December 29-January 10. David Mamet will direct.

In the production, Jay will offer an intimate look into his life and career, as well as display his sleight-of-hand prowess. The piece is described as “more personal and more improvisational than his previous outings. The audience often directs the course of action and no three performances are the same.”

In addition to his stage work, which includes the shows Ricky Jay: On the Stem and Ricky Jay & His 52 Assistants, Jay has performed in many of Mamet’s films, including House of Games, he Spanish Prisoner, and Redbelt. His television credits include Deadwood. As an author, actor, historian, and consultant, Jay has contributed to institutions as diverse as National Public Radio and Encyclopædia Britannica.

Mamet directed Jay’s previous two shows, and is best known as a playwright. He is currently represented on Broadway by the revival of Oleanna and will debuting his newest work Race on Broadway later this season.
