The Theatre @ Boston Court Announces 2009 Season

The Theatre @ Boston Court has announced the line-up for its 2009 season, set to feature four productions including two world premieres.

The season will open with Tartuffe, February 12-March 22, set in the San Fernando Valley with pop art and industrial music to compliment Moliere’s rhymes and indictment of hypocrisy. Josh Chambers will direct. The world premiere of Laura Schellhardt’s Courting Vampires will follow, April 30-June 7, with an allegory that straddles the graveyard and the courtroom, to be directed by Jessica Kubzansky.

The Pain and the Itch by Bruce Norris, a co-production with Furious Theatre Company, will play July 16-August 23 with Dámaso Rodriguez at the helm. The season will close with the world premiere of Deborah Stein’s God Save Gertrude, October 1-November 8, a punk rock riff on Hamlet when Queen Gertrude takes the stage to sing about her many loves and her many mistakes.
