Sharon L. Graine to Star in House On The Hill

Sharon L. Graine will star in House On The Hill, Mammy Pleasant’s Story premiering at Playhouse Theater Playhouse, beginning October 18.

The play tells the story of the first African American female millionaire, Mary Ellen Pleasant, who was also an abolitionist, active in the Underground Railroad. Her fight with the Omnibus Railway Company ended with her being the first to win equal rights for African Americans to ride public transportation. (Almost 100 years before Rosa Parks.) However, her enemies accused her of being a Voodoo Priestess, a Madame and even a murderess.
