The Theatre @ Boston Court has announced the three plays that will comprise its 2012 season.

The schedule begins with The Treatment (to open February 25), an adaptation of Anton Chekhov’s short story Ward 6, which examines the dividing line between sanity and insanity. The company will co-produce the piece, which has text by Richard Alger and will be directed and choreographed by Tina Kronis, with Theatre Movement Bazaar.

The season will also include Michael Elyanow’s The Children (opening May 12). Jessica Kubzansky will direct the play, which imagines that Medea’s children have been whisked away from their murderous mother to present-day Maine. Boston Court will also co-produce a new version of Gogol’s farce The Government Inspector (to open July 28) with Furious Theatre Company, and the theater will present Kathryn Walat’s Creation (opening October 15), a portrait of a man’s life after he’s been struck by lightning, to be directed by Michael Michetti.
