Steven Spielberg to Receive PGA’s David O. Selznick Award

Academy Award winner Steven Spielberg will receive the 2012 David O. Selznick Achievement Award in Motion Pictures at the 23rd Annual Producers Guild Awards ceremony on Saturday, January 21 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles.


Spielberg produced the Broadway play, The Farnsworth Invention, by Aaron Sorkin.
Two of Spielberg’s films, The Color Purple and Catch Me If You Can, were made into Broadway musicals. He recently directed and produced War Horse, based on the same novel by Michael Morpurgo that provides the basis for the Tony Award-winning Broadway play.


His many films other include Saving Private Ryan, Schindler’s List, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Munich, Empire of the Sun, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T., and Jaws.
